summer's ending!

Today was my first day back at work..just for a training from "Handwriting Without Tears" It was very interesting and I can't wait to use it in our classroom this year. I missed my girl but my mom sent me two pictures of her so that made my day! I am ready to get our classroom ready and meet our new kiddos!

Since last blog we have tried pears, bananas, carrots, and green beans. We are NOT a fan of carrots, when I say NOT I really mean it, as in Annie Carlyle wouldn't even swallow them and would gag herself, I kept having to scoop them out of her mouth...kinda  reminded me of my sister on corn growing up! We LOVE pears and bananas the best right now. I thought carrots would be a good vegetable to introduce first because the jar said sweet carrots, I thought I would try sweet carrots then green beans. Oh well. I think she tolerates the beans, we've tried them once, and will eat them again tonight.
There is a family here that has really taken Annie Carlyle and me into their precious family and have done SO SO much for the both of us. They have a daughter in Mississippi that is my age, that made AC some PRECIOUS monogrammed bibs and shirt... I will take pictures and put them on here.
Annie Carlyle is now a woman on a mission! She goes exactly where she wants to now, even after we turn her and move her, she'll turn around and crawl exactly back to where she wants to be.
Last night we took the pack-n-play and put it up and took her baby bath tub out of the regular bath tub.
The pack and play was a crutch for me. Several nights a week I would put Annie Carlyle in her crib, but when she would wake up to eat I would just put her in the pack and play, easiest for me for the next time she wakes up :) I decided she's such an independent baby that it doesn't matter to her where she sleeps so I need to take advantage of that and put her in the crib, so last night I did it! I fed her and changed her diaper in her room and put her back in her crib. Izzy thanks me for this, she has her bed/bedroom back and baby free!
We took the babytub out because we were nearly drowning at every bath...she would sit up and try to splash and would fall forward, well the water would be waist deep on her when she sat straight up, so now I just put a little bit of water in the tub and she LOVES it, she can crawl around, move around and be ok.. I just need to get some of those grippie things for the bottom so she doesn't slide.
Matthew and I have truly been blessed with such an easy baby, as I type this blog, she is sitting in the floor playing with her toys, she is very good about entertaining herself for the most part.
this weekend we went to Boiling Springs, NC, the town where I graduated college from, Two of my friends bought a new house there so we went up for a weekend to visit. Annie Carlyle did EXCELLENT on the way there,  (on the way home she screamed for over an hour! but I now know that you should rub crinkled paper on the canopy of the carseat and it will soothe the baby!) didn't even have to stop for her! She did great there too, didn't sleep very much, but was her usual charming self. We took her to the YMCA pool and she sat in the water and used the swings. My friend CJ, might as well be a professional photographer, took some excellent pictures for me. I am so thankful for this because Thursday before we went there, I went to SEARS to have some simple pictures done for her 6 months that were affordable so that I could share with others. TOTAL DISASTER. the photographer literally waited for the perfect picture before he would snap. Annie Carlyle got pissed because she was having to sit there and be away from me. I got pissed because the "photographer"/employee kept trying to put cheesy props and then when I told him what I wanted to buy he told me I still had to hear his packages. Anyways, THANKS CJ FOR THE BEAUTIFUL PICTURES!
I hope this blog wasn't too scatterbrained for ya!
here are a few pictures for those that don't have facebook--
